I took Cymbalta for the first time a few days back, and after only one dosage, I have been to the ER twice, and I am physically wrecked. I hate what this drug has done to me, and I am desperate for support. It's only been 5 days since the initial dosage (or should I say poisoning), but I am living in a non stop hell. At times I pray to god to please make this stop, and have contemplated stopping it myself.

On my last trip to the ER, the doctor gave me cyproheptadine to help with the symptoms. I'm not sure if it helped as I was feeling pretty crappy (crappy being a huge understatement) and still am. The doctor seemed convinced that it did help somewhat and told me they would better help with continued use. I just filled my script and am weary of adding more drugs to my system, I'm still pretty damn tramatized because of the cymbalta :( I'm also worried because I take .05mg of alpazolam for my anxiety about twice a day, and I know mixing antihistamines with it causes severe drowsiness. The morning after taking it @ the ER in combination with Ativan, I woke up feeling like I had the worse hangover. The doc told me it was fine, and if anything it would help me get some more sleep. Has anyone else taken this? Did it help at all, and specifically with what symptoms? I've googled around and read what it's used for when it comes to these types of ADs, but I was hoping to get someones personal experience of using this for cymbalta related side effects/WD symptoms, instead of reading all the scientific info which just adds to my anxiety :( Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Manny

Dear Manny:
I wished I could help you but I do not know about cyproheptadine. I agree, on your worry of adding more drugs to your system. You are already taking many meds.
I have taken cymbalta 60mg for 5 years. For this reason I tried to take the less meds I could. For example if I had the flu, or if I had upset stomach, I wouldn´t take any medicines. The times that I had to take meds I always checked their interaction with cymbalta. To know if a medicine has interactions with cymbalta you can look in this site http://www.drugs.com/ . Look into the “interactions” section. It has helped me a lot during these 5 years.
