To research why I'm currently in a hypomanic episode after quitting Cymbalta. I've never been diagnosed as being bipolar. No matter what i've told various primary care providers and 1 psychiatrist over the past 12 years, they all said I was suffering from depression. However, is it possible that Im actually Bipolar II?

I've only been here a few days, but i find there are just hundreds of 'views' of questions and comments, and, in most cases, very little replies. It seems to be very active as far as people reading posts, but i'm disappointed that very few people answer much and it is low on replies. I wish it were more active. I've even tried to throw in a funny quip in here and there to maybe help ease our suffering and have a laugh. Maybe it's only me that feels that way, but I'm feeling in a bad way now and more support and interaction would be nice. The site is much more informational regarding experiences but not really heavy on support. I may be out of line in making this comment, but I'm hypomanic right now and was hoping to build some comradary (spelling?). I understand if this comment may be taken as offensive and feel free to delete it if you'd like. I'm just going through a lot of ups and downs, racing throughts, etc. Just my opinion, for whatever it's worth. Sorry.

I just noticed that this website is not "private." Another mood disorder forum I belong to is "protected" so that posts will not be picked up by search bots. Also, the easy ability to repost these posts on Facebook and the like kind of bothers me for a support forum. True, no one will ever know who "Imdone" is, but it still seems to take away the privacy of a support forum.

On the other hand, contradicting myself sort of, I see the benefit in getting out the word to others about getting off Cymbalta. What you could do is create sub-forums that are for "members only" that are protected. These protected sub-forums would be for offering support.

If any of you want to know more about the other site which is very supportive and private for those with mood disorders, PM me. However, they are "pro-med" over there, mostly BP's. I came here because no one over there wants to get off meds, but they are very supportive to each other and it's a good place.

Isnt it amazing how something so WONDERFUL can be such a true nightmare? I'm 28 and just cannot believe the medical field.... $$$$$ is all they care bout drug reps send it doctors push it and we all eventually end up dead from what started out tryin to get better. I almost feel more confident in myself and my own studied, knowledge, & judgement anymore. Ill be prayin for you :-) it will get better! YOU WILL RISE
