I've been taking 30 mg cymbalta for about one year. Two different drs. recommended it to me to help with depression, anxiety and fibromyalgia pain. I saw great improvement in my depression and anxiety symptoms, but no difference at all with pain or fatigue. I had mild nausea for the first few weeks starting the drug. Also, I've gained almost 20 lbs., have bad bouts of itchiness, severe dry mouth and brain fog. So . . . my doctor was in agreement when I said I wanted to get off cymbalta. On dr. recommendation I dropped down to 20 mg for one month. I took the 20 mg and on day 3 I was weepy, irritable and stressed. That passed, however, and the rest of the month went well. The next step was to start the 20 mg every other day. I've been doing that for a week now. I have now gone 2 days in a row without taking any (I actually forgot to take the dose I was supposed to take today.) I had bad brain fog today, having trouble getting to sleep, very irritable, short term memory lapses and mild nausea. I'm wondering if I should just continue not taking any at all since I'm kind of on a roll without it for 2 days. OR, should I go back on the every other day schedule for a few more weeks. OR, should I try taking out some of the balls and taper off more gradually over the next few weeks?? I'm supposed to be taking a 4-day holiday at the end of the month, and I really don't want to feel like crap while I'm traveling. Anyone have any advice?? Thanks for listening and commenting.
