Posted 23 December 2009 - 11:27 PM

ok i have been on meds for around 7 years, at least 4 on cymbalta 60mg to ween me off 360mg of effor xr the taper worked but i ran out of meds (samples) no insurance to get more and i moved from hometown i have 1 sample box of 30mg this is day 2 and its getting bad***zaps/startled feeling, i tried adding more xanax to my reg dose of 2mgs a day but not helping as well i also take remeron 45 to sleep. anyone know if the omega works on zaps or anything not over the counter that works? please this sucks almost as bad as effexor withdrawls

Hi Ben,

The comparison with effexor has been made before. I think they're in the same group.

Have a look under some of the posts in nutritional support and you'll find some of the things other people found useful. personally, I didn't find anything made much difference. Sticking to a really healthy diet though - no junk, caffiene, alchohol etc does seem to benefit everyone though, during withdrawals.

How many 30mg Cymbalta have you got left?

Can you get any more samples?

Many have also found that Prozac helps the withdrawal symptoms, but not sure how that works with your insurance etc as I'm in Australia.

It's bad news to stop suddenly, as I'm sure you know.

If you can't get any more, and you can't get anything else from your doctor to help, you can actually divide up the capsules you've got, using clear gelatine capsules so that it's a bit easier on your body.

Let me know how many you have left, though, first.

regards, Maureen.

Ben,
This is worse than the Effexor withdrawls, and you can get free meds from Cymbalta, just
call them , and sign up for the program. Hopefully your doc will get the rep in the office
as they love to push this crap, and will get you enough samples to get you through until the
other supply arrives from Cymbalta!!! Also go to Montel williams site, he too has a free
drug program, but get the samples first!!! Even you doc know you can't stop the abruptly.

Good luck, let me know if I can help in anyway. As to anything that is not over the counter
for these withdrawls you mentioned, there might be something, but here look in the nutrition
area on the main form borad, and it tells you all the supplements to take. None of them helped
me, but it's the Omega 3 that others say helps them with the brain zaps.

Good Luck, Merry Christmas.

Debbie

i have 3 pills left, theres just 7 in the sample pack..

Three isn't really enough to be able to use them to taper at all. Can you get any more samples from your doctor?

If not, I believe it's possible to get free samples from the Eli Lilly, but I'm just repeating what others have said here.

How are you feeling?

MAureen.
