I understand that the recommendation from drug companies themselves is to reduce the dose/s by no more than 10% each time.

I'm really glad I found this forum. Thanks for all of your help so far. I have gone from 60 mg to 20 over a period of about 4 months. I tried to go cold turkey last week and after about 4-5 days the symtoms were awful.. So today I started back on 10 mg (opening capsules, counting beads.) Do you think I should go back to 20 and then down to 10? This is just awful - I went through this with Paxil and Effexor years ago and I can tell people here that eventually you CAN get off this stuff!
Also, those of you using prozac to help with symptoms: How much do you take?
Thanks for listening.
Teddy,
Hi just thought I would tell you that to go from 20 mg to 10 mg is a big drop.
I would go back to 20 mg, and just decrease by 10 beads every 2 weeks.
If the withdrawls are just unbearable, then only decread by 5 or so, and see
if that work's better for you.
I already answered you question about Prozac else where, but will put it here
I took 20 mf of Prozax daily, and continue to do so, as I still have 40 beads
to go.
If you need anything else let me know, and you can do this if I did! It was
a nightmare on this stuf, and getting off, but it did get so much easier!
KEEP REMEMBERING IT'S JUST THE DRUG TALKING TO YOU!
Take good care,
Debbie

Hi TeddyThanks guys. I've been on 10mg for the past couple of days with minimal side effects. I think I'll stay on 10 for the next few weeks and then try going down to 5. Thanks again. Glad I found this forum.
You might be interested to know that another forum I go to (Paxil Progress) has found, over a long period of time, that people do best when they allow 3-6 weeks between decreases. You will know when you feel stable and that will be the time to do the drop.
Good luck
