I am currently on Cymbalta after many years of other drugs including Zoloft, Wellbutrin and Effexor. I had a terrible experience coming off of Effexor that resulted only in my going back on, then changing to Cymbalta. I feel, at this point, that the drugs are causing as many problems as the initial depression did, and am looking at the possibility of coming off but am living this year in rural Italy and need some real support in considering this possibility and its consequences.

A few weeks ago, I was on 60mg. My medical and homeopathic doctor recommended dropping to 30mg with support from two homeopathic remedies. Now, I'm on 30mg every two days and the worst I can report is some moodiness and ear pulsing on my days off. After losing 8 kilos from diarrhea, loss of appetite and debilitating anxiety attacks coming off Effexor, I'm pretty impressed. Just thought I'd share. If it all goes pear-shaped, even a little, I'm onto reducing by beads! :)

Hi -
I am using carcinosinum and phosphorous, but I guess homeopaths prescribe on a very individual basis so I don't know if these would be right for you. Funny, when I didn't have my Car. with me, I used some RR also. Not sure if it helpe but it doesn't hurt. Thanks.

Is there anything that you know of to help with the sick to the stomach feeling? I have been cutting over the last three weeks, from 30 to 7.5 (counting those stupid little balls). My stomach is so sore and today I feel like I am shaking from the inside out! I hate this! I'm so tired of not feeling good! I just want my life back!

Hi Granny

Did I read right? Did you say you've dropped from 30mg to 7.5mg in just 3 weeks? If you did, that is wayyyyyyyyyyyy too fast and will no doubt be the reason for your nausea. You might want to consider either updosing until you feel better, or staying on your current dose until you stabilise (don't feel any symptoms). It is not a race. Better to go slowly and ensure a better outcome.

As for how to help with the nausea, I've heard that ginger is very good. I think I remember someone talking about ginger tea, or using ginger and adding it to hot water to make tea *scratches head*. Can't remember now, sorry!

Take care

Consider finding a homeopath/ naturopath. I've had no nausea in my withdrawal using carcinosinum and phosphurous, but those might be the wrong remedies for you.
