I had gastrc bypass surg. 6 days ago and did not find out I could no longer take Cymbalta until a few days before. I am irritable, can't sleep, ache all over and have other withdrawal symptoms. Dr prescribed Wellbutrin, but can't take that either because it is a sustained release med. I don't really want to take any of those meds. About how long should withdrawal symptoms last? I took 60mg for 4+ yrs. Thanks for any suggestions.

Hi Newbie

60mg is a high dose to cold turkey from. I'm getting more and more cross with these Drs every day. Wonder when they are going to bother to find out how they drugs actually work? They chemically change the way our brains function....

To answer your question: there is no set time because everyone is different but as a guide, I would think the worst would be over in about 2 weeks. FYI many people find relief by taking Prozac during wdl. Not sure whether it would be suitable in your case but it would be worth asking.

Best of luck
Junior
