I am currently on Cymbalta after many years of other drugs including Zoloft, Wellbutrin and Effexor. I had a terrible experience coming off of Effexor that resulted only in my going back on, then changing to Cymbalta. I feel, at this point, that the drugs are causing as many problems as the initial depression did, and am looking at the possibility of coming off but am living this year in rural Italy and need some real support in considering this possibility and its consequences.

Sorry you've been so long without a response.

I'm afraid that after two weeks, I'd still recommend weaning slowly -- tapering off -- especially if it's now been four weeks given the lag in response from the board. You can empty out the capsules, but I'd reduce a bit more slowly, probably.

Why do you want to stop Cymbalta? Have you had negative side effects? It's not bad for everyone, you know.

Hi. I've been on Zoloft for years now mostly for anxiety and deperssiona a bit, and decided along with my PCP to try Cymbalta instead. Only have been using for two weeks at a dose of 60mg daily, and want to stop taking it, and either switch back to zoloft or try alternative therapies. Can i just wean down over a few days time since I have been using this for such a short time period? Maybe empty out 1/2 of the med from capsule? Thanks:)
