Been on Cymbalta for 5 years, weaned myself slowly from 60 mg to 30 mg over a period of several months. I hate counting the tiny granules and was just wondering if anyone had ever tried going from Cymbalta to Wellbutrin

I took Wellbutin once for a few months before becoming depressed, used to medicine to stop smoking and can not remember having any withdrawal from stopping taking it. I thought it might be a way to rid myself of the evil cymbalta forever. so if anyone has any experience or insight please reply. I want to live again and not be a slave to Cymbalta

I am currently on Cymbalta after many years of other drugs including Zoloft, Wellbutrin and Effexor. I had a terrible experience coming off of Effexor that resulted only in my going back on, then changing to Cymbalta. I feel, at this point, that the drugs are causing as many problems as the initial depression did, and am looking at the possibility of coming off but am living this year in rural Italy and need some real support in considering this possibility and its consequences.

I'm not sure how much help this will be -- probably none as our responses are so individual -- but Wellbutrin did absolutely zip for me. Nada. So nada I was diagnosed with depression-related pseudodementia while on it. Some of these medications, I think, have the effect of actually depressing us. So that's me. I would say: easy does it. Just reduce slowly. I used to be on 60 mg. Now I'm on 10mg and I'm okay. It works.
