Just checking in to report that I'm now down to 10mg for the last two days. Bit more anxious feeling in my stomach, but I can manage that now with my meditation-related practices. Can't say I'm feeling great, but certainly no worse, and in that way, much better, if you know what I mean. I mean, if I don't feel worse, and I'm on such a low dose, then that's better for me because I"m on the path. Thanks everyone.
Yippeee!!!

Day five for me, first four spent at 23mg down from 30. Counting beads brings back hazy memories of cleaning my stash, only on a much smaller scale and without the album cover. Slight trouble sleeping, nothing serious. Stopped Zoloft easily, thought I could do the same for celexa, I was wrong. This time I thought I would research how to get off cymbalta to spare the wife (and cats) any further trauma. This site is very helpful, I've learned some valuable information. I had planned on cutting back to a pill every other day, then every third which would have been a mistake. When the inevetible anxiety arises I'm going to try to channel the nervous energy instead of being paralized by it. I am in school after losing my job of 20 years and I'll be finished in August. One of the reasons, but not the only one, I want to be off all meds is that a lot of jobs require drug screening and I take klonapin every few days. When the drug tests came back positive I would have a lot of "splaining to do." Paranoid maybe, but in todays job market I can't be too careful.
Glad to hear you're doing well. Delighted to hear you got some valuable info from the site. How long before the withdrawal effects kick in for you?
regards, Maureen.

I have realised why I wasn't getting my messages: somehow, they'd found their way into my junk mail and now I've found them.
So, hi again everybody. And I must say I'm not having a good day today. A local pharmacist has divided up my 30s into 5s and I really think he may not have done it evenly. I've been having good days, and then days like today when I feel like the sky is falling. Then good days again. No withdrawal effects one day, or none besides the normal fogginess, and then diarrhea, ear pulsing and terrible anxiety and despair the next. When I was steady the first week on 10mg. Anyway, my husband just told me: you're doing better. You have more energy, more confidence. We're seeing the benefits of this reduction already.
I need to remember that from one day to the next because days like this really, truly suck. Would love to hear from you all.
Why not count the beads? There should be 35 for a 5mg dose.
If you've dropped straight from 10mg to 5mg you're bound to have some problems adjusting. Almost like a 'cold turkey' person, you're going to have good & bad days, which hopefully will turn into more good than bad, then just good.
regards, Maureen.
