Dear Friends:
I started taking cymbalta 5 years ago. I gained 44 lbs in 3 months, and remained fat for all these years. I had always been a very thin, skinny person. I lost all my clothes. I would like to know if you have gained or lost weight after weaning off of cymbalta or decreasing dose???? What about your glucose and insulin levels, were they affected?. Your information will be helpful.

I gained 30 lbs in 2 years and I was tiny too. I tried all diet and exercise on it and was only ever able to shake 10 lb maximum I am following my weight closely no to see if being off the drug will shake things up a bit. So far 4 lbs in 10 days not much but a start. I quit taking 60 mg cold turkey after 2 and a bit years.. been wack 10 days ..

Dear Kaitlyn:
People also asked me if I was pregnant. LOL. Even though you haven´t lost any weight, it is good that you haven´t gained any weight either (after lowering dose).
How did you count the beads??? if there are 540 beads in one pill, how did you count them or divide them?

When you start you don't need to count them. If you're dropping only a few mg, you just take out 9 x beads for every mg you want to drop.
If you want to make it easier for yourself you can buy empty gelatine capsules, like I did, and divide up the doses at the start. I didn't start weaning properly until 20mg (I was trying to increase the time between doses).
So all I would do is take 60mg and divide it into three doses using the empty capsules. Then when I dropped to 17.5, I made up 4 x 15mg from a 60mg, and added another 22 beads to each capsule.
Let us know if you want more info.
regards, Maureen.

Thank you so much on the info. Seems like I have to review my Math before starting lowering dose!.....
Your information makes things easier, since I thought I had to count the 540 beads in a 60mg capsule.
I like the idea of taking out 9 beads for every mg I want to drop.
Sounds easier.
Hugs

Wow! It blows my mind that there are 540 beads in one capsule!! And here I am taking one or two beads out a day for one week and experiencing insomnia! I'm going to take ten beads out tonight. Which is only just over 1mg... that's a little disheartening. I guess it just doesn't seem like there could possibly be that many beads in there and that many at a time seemed to put a bit of a dent in it, but I guess I was just fooling myself. Oh well, I'm continuing this way since it seems to be working okay, except for the insomnia.
