    This Sucks

Posted 05 May 2010 - 10:41 AM

My doctor did not tell me any of this! I am on day 15, and have brain zaps, pain and worst of all explosive anger. I get pissed off SO easy. First thing in the morning I get pissed off, then again when I get home from work! I mean PISSED OFF, I can barely control myself and feel sorry for anyone who is around me. I am Pissed off right NOW. I am mad at the assholes who develop medicine and make a huge profit from it, then don't provide the information necessary to quit taking it. This stuff is worse than narcotics and I would like to beat the shit out of the people who lobby for this company. AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No fun, is it? I do hope you haven't dropped Cymbalta cold turkey? That's by far the hardest way to go.

Can you tell us a bit about you and Cymbalta?

regards, Maureen.

I know it sucks. I feel ya. I am over a month Cold Turkey, this stuff is bad.
I did it by isolating in my home. I couldn't imagine trying to work through withdrawl.
Weening is much safer and will probably allow you to go at your own pace.
There are some good people here who can help.
You can start with some of the basics.
Hang in there.
Peace

My doc did use one of the methods of tapering - just a really fast one. His practice is busy, so when I called to ask about how I was feeling I had to pass a message through staff. I really don't like that, but that's another issue. Whether he knew or not - I will have to wait until my next visit. This WILL definitely be a topic of conversation. Of course once a patient is on it...doesn't seem like there are many options. You just have to go through this. I thank God I have such a wonderful sweetie who has been taking care of me.

The other thing I want to do is write, call, email, whatever the FDA. This w/d crap is just too much - especially for those of us dealing with other issues.

IMO, it is very important for people to know we are not the only ones. That was such a relief to me!!
