I c/t'd from 60mg in 2009. Went back on and started tapering. Spent the next 4 years trying to get off. It was very difficult. Finally stopped at 17 beads on Dec.4, 2013.

Hi. I've searched the forum to see if anyone else has had this as a symptom. I have seen it listed as a w/d symptom, but haven't been able to find it discussed much. First my eyes started itching, burning, watering like crazy. Then it just kinda spread out from my eyes. My skin around
my eyes is very red and inflammed, feels like it's on fire. Burns and itches. Also very puffy. I'm taking anti-histamine, and using benadryl cream, which helps the itching some. This started a week ago. It's still spreading further down my face. I've stopped the tapering until this clears up. Does anyone know anything at all that might help? All other w/d symptoms have been manageable. I don't think going back up on doseage would help any, as I had a very similar rash(if you can call it that) before I ever started tapering. I had started having other side-effects from the med. Any suggestions at all would really be appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Lundeliz,

I've been on this site regularly since last August, and haven't seen anyone mention this specific symptom, or nothing near as bad. Lots of us have had difficulty with itchiness (me, more as a side effects, others, with withdrawal), but I wouldn't put anything past Cymbalta. This sounds a bit too serious to just assume it's from cymbalta - I think you should seek professional advice.

(They may deny it's anything to do with Cymbalta withdrawal, so you may be none the wise, but your eyes are too important to just let it run its course.)

regards, Maureen.
