    Concerned about cymbalta withdrawal

Posted 12 June 2010 - 06:17 PM

Weaning off 30 mg. Okay, I tried the every other day for the past week. Kept forgetting which day was on/off. When I forgot to take my capsule last night, felt horrible, then I realized I needed to take it. Even then, I still felt very restless, couldn't sleep, vivid dreams, extremely anxious, tightness in chest, nausea. Finally fell asleep after 1 AM! Felt hung over today and extremely agitated and had an anger outburst at my son! Not good!

Tonight I am doing the bead reduction. Took one 30 mg capsule and it does have about 270 beads in it. Dropped it by 36 beads (about 4mg). Will see how this goes. I read ON THIS SITE (thank you for all of your input)about the 9 beads = 1 mg, so I'm dropping by this amount (36 beads) 'till symptoms subside (hopefully about 4-7 days), and until I'm off. Will keep posting. I know others are out there like me, thanks to this website!!!

Keep posting, guys and gals. We learn more from each other than our own doctors, apparently! My doc told me cold turkey or every other day---she said it really didn't matter because there would be no side effects (ha ha ha ha ha ha---yeah, I thought she was smoking crack, too)! LOL!

Hi mustanggirl, welcome to the board,

great to see someone who's benefit from all the info on here!

You'll soon find out how soon withdrawal starts for you, and how soon the symptoms subside. I always did my next withdrawal the day after the brain zaps stopped. At least this way the withdrawal symptoms are generally very mild - more a reminder that this IS the way to go.

regards, maureen.

Thanks Maureen! I will keep everyone posted. Two days into bead reduction (-35 beads) and no major effects yet.

Thanks to everyone on this site!
