In the future I would like to stop cymbalta

Posted 30 June 2010 - 10:35 PM

Dear Mom to 3:
From what you mentioned about you weaning plan. I see that you were taking 30mg, then went to 15mg for 10 days, and then 7,5mg for 10 days. It sounds a very fast plan (only 20 days) and with huge drops (50% drops).

I understand your frustration. Lots of symptoms going on.

Maybe you could do one of these 2 options:
1. If you can´t really tolerate the symptoms, take a certain dose of cymbalta and start weaning real slowly from there. Drops should be 10% maximum, and you should wait the symptoms to dissapear until you make further drops.
(For example: My weaning plan considers 2,5mg drops and going from 30mg to zero will take me 3 months).
2. Staying off the med, since you already quit a week ago. In relation to your girls you could send them with relatives. But we don´t know how long the symptoms will last and how long they´ll have to stay in relative home.

It is shocking to hear that your doctor told you there are no withdrawal symptoms and he thought you had the FLU!!!!!! Flu like symptoms is a withdrawal symptom, I´ve had it.

Keep me posted on your decision,
