Hi,
I am on week two of trying to rid my body of this poison Cymbalta. I now take half of a 30mg dose each morning. I have decided to try real hard not to give in and take the Welbutron I was switched to. My day has been spent in the potty, this has to be more withdrawal. I went back to my cardio doc for the 2nd time in a week. First he said double your Diltazm 180 but now I am triple dose. Ten min. ago, BP read 152/100. Chest hurts, back hurts. I am 44, 240 lbs, and 6'2" and now take 5mg of Topril, 180 mg of Diltazm XL and 160mg of Diovan plus a small dose of HCT. Since I have been on these anti-dep drugs I have found my thyroid is hypo, my testosterone is low, and have NO energy. I think I am going to choose to live with the depressed feelings and stay away from the poison if I ever get thru this. Anyone else have a BP issue while getting off Cymbalta? Thanks

I have extremely low blood pressure to start with, but I know for the first week or so, it FELT like mine was up, although I had no way to measure it when I would feel it. It also didn't feel like a sustained rise, more like surges.

With your current medical conditions, please stay in close contact with your doctor. One thing that occurs to me, and I'm not a doctor, but when I took Wellbutrin years ago, it increased my anxiety quite a bit, so I couldn't take it. Perhaps you would be better suited to take Celexa or an anti-anxiety med while weaning, to ensure that your BP stays within a safe range. My thought is that adding something that could increase your anxiety would not be good for your BP. Just something for you to talk to your doctor about.

I know that I couldn't even tolerate taking benedryl because it made me feel very anxious and jittery. I do think that weaning from this stuff can have a huge physical impact in addition to the mental/emotional ones. Please be careful, and post back to update how you are doing.

I'm at day 83 and still have racing heart and blood pressure issues and my PCP doesn't know what to do. My blood pressure has been all over the place. However, I went to a cardiologist on my own last and my ekg was ok. I am scheduled for a stress/echo on Thursday, these doctors don't seem to be in any hurry to figure out what is wrong with me and if I have been harmed permanently.

Not only is it possible, Id be hesitant to believe anybody came off w/out this happening. Its probable, in my opinion. Mystic
