I would like to get off of cymbalta

hi there, I am new to this website and have been reading lots of messages about all the side affects kinda scary but I want off I have heard nothing but bad things about these pills. I have been on them for about 2 years now after having my last child. I'm on the 30mg so I do beleive I seen someone say 270 grains in one capsule.
It seems to me that I should start taking about 5 grains out every 4-5 days and marking it down as I go? I really don't want to have major withdrawals all at once because I have a 2 and 3 year old to look after everyday:-) They don't need me going crazy!

Dear Candi07
Everyone is different. There are some of us who suffer from withdrawal symptoms and some who don´t.
It´s good that you are already on 30mg, I had to start weaning from 60mg.
It would be better if you counted your pill, to make sure. (I´ve read on this site differences in the number of grains). I´ve also read on this site, that one should drop a maximum of 10% of actual dose.
So if you are starting at 30mg you could drop 3mg. The period of time in which you are going to stay on each dose, depends on how long do the symptoms go away. At the beginning I would stay 1 week at each dose. Now that I am at a lower dose, it´s been getting harder and I decided to stay on this dose for a month. So 4-5 days sounds to short in time for me. (however as I said, everybody is different).

P.S: I am not a doctor, just a cymbalta user and depression sufferer. It would be ideal to have your doctor´s support during this weaning process
