I need help getting off of Cymbalta. I have tried to get off twice before and failed both times because of the terrible withdrawal symptoms. I love my doctor, but she does not have a clue about how evil Cymbalta can be when you try to stop taking it. I did manage to come down to 60mg from 90mg last month,as per her directions, but I thought I was going to die. Don't want to go through that again. There has to be a better way to come off of this stuff. HELP!

My doctor started to wean me off of cymbalta and last sunday my pulse rate was between 105-115. I felt horrible and today my palse was up again but was not at my stepsister's house to take my blood pressure and pulse reading. Has anyone else experienced this with cymbalta? Felt like my heart was going to come out of my chest. Please let me know. Thanks!

Hi Patty, I am going through the same thing although I am weaning very slowly. I have been taking 60mg minus 36 beads for a week. My pulse has been between 95 and 100 since I have been cutting down. My pulse is normally between 65 and 70. I have also been craving sugar and I am always HOT! I am so sick of the withdrawals. I have been tempted to go cold turkey and get it over with, but I have learned my lesson well. I went from 90 to 60 cold turkey and I will not do that again. It will be bead by bead for me.
I hope it helps knowing that you are not the only one.
Be well,
Tessa
