Hi there, I am trying to ween off of Cymbalta. I was originally on 60 mg, and the first week of 60 mg to 30 mg was wonderful! I felt normal again, clear headed, easy to concentrate. After that I am not so sure what is withdrawal effects, what is the underlying depression, and what is stress due to a major geographic move.

At any rate, any attempt at 30 to 0 is pure hell. Just missing one day of dose I feel a giant headache, really intense sleep-disturbing vivid dreams, and very easily agitated/ prone to crying/ etc the next day.

My new (post-move) doctor's suggestion is to take Sepia, a homeopathic remedy in an attempt to correct my underlying constitution, then try to go down from 30 to 20 to 0. Well this is all well and good except 20 mg is not available in Canada! He just shows me his little blackberry that has 20, 30 and 60 in it. But no pharmacy thinks it is available in 20 here. I tried to order online from canadadrugs.com, but they stated the 20 mg was not available to Canadian residents, only US residents.

The old doctor was trying to get me to take Zoloft with it then go every other day and then cold turkey. I can't remember why I decided the Zoloft was not a good plan (immediate side effects?)

I tried contacting a compounding pharmacy but they said they cannot compound it. I am reluctant to split the pills as I see that some of you do if the compounding pharmacy would not do it?

Talking to another pharmacist he said it is difficult to split and suggested going the add-Prozac route. Or try to increase the time between one pill and the next gradually, e.g. 36 hours.

Any ideas from Canadians how to ween off without access to the 20, or if you've been able to get the 20, let me know how!
