Taking Cymbalta for 4 years has taken it's toll and now I need to get off of it.

I don't worry about putting the beads back into a capsule. When I'm done counting the beads that I'm going to take, I just pop them in my mouth and wash them down. I read in the pamphlet that the beads don't begin to dissolve until they get into an acidic 5.5 pH in your digestive system. The capsule itself will dissolve in water, so that capsule is worthless.

Cheers!

In the future I would like to stop cymbalta

Hello:
I have been weaning for a while. I have always taken cymbalta in its original cap.

Someone in this forum who was about to graduate from nursing school said it was not safe to take cymbalta without the cap. She said something about "the capsules being -encoded- and that this allowed them to be release slowly into the blood stream". She also said that "taking the beads without the capsule could damage mucus membranes and stomach lining".

All the product that I take out from the capsule I put it into a plastic container. But I do not want to waste this product, since cymbalta is expensive for me. I would like to know if it is safe to use other gelatin caps, or if cymbalta´s caps have special specifications that differ from regular gelatin caps???????
