want to get off of cymbalta

Posted 04 September 2010 - 06:07 PM

Hi, so glad that there are answers out there about how to get off this drug. I was formerly on Effexor for about 12 years and wanted to see if I could feel normal again. I weaned off but not slowly enough and felt I needed something to take the sting out of it. I saw that Cymbalta was supposed to help with fibromyalgia and asked to be put on that. So Sorry! I have been trying to get off but apparently not the right way. I just dumped out half of my 60 mg (more or less) and took that every other day. I am finally sleeping but oh the dreams! I also feel sluggish, have headaches, dry mouth, can't really wake up and want to eat all of the time. I have been on Cymbalta for about 10 months. I have gained about 20 lbs and now I have what feels like little electrical jolts all over my body. Looks like I need to take the slow way of just dropping a few pellets for a week and then begin dropping more and so on. How many should I remove at first and approximately how long before I remove more and how many?
