Has anyone done (at their doc's recommendation) a complete cold turkey stop of cymbalta while replacing it with another SSRI ?
What have you experienced ?

Slant - Some people who have posted here have replaced successfully, but I guess once they feel better, they tend to not come here and post. Try looking through some of the older stuff from around January.

I am on day 4 off the Celexa that I was prescribed after 45 days of cold turkey. Nothing like the first few days of Cymbalta withdrawal. Feeling pretty good, this is very different, in a good way.

89 days off Cymbalta
Celexa from Feb 28 to April 8 (very low dose)
and now the fourth day off!

You are fortunate to have found a doctor that acknowledges that what we have felt is REAL. I hope your transition is smooth and look forward to hearing as to how you are doing.

I stayed on Cymbalta for about a year longer than I needed to, I could not find success stories and whenever I missed a dose, I felt awful, so I was really frightened. I am so glad that your boyfriend found this site and you were able to get some support quickly.

Through the power of this website, there are many people who have come off on their own, with the help of another SSRI, through weaning, etc. and do have success stories.

Slant, how much were you taking on a daily basis and what are you now taking? Did your doctor recomend you switch abruptly like that and did you?
