I have been off Cymbalta for a few days now and I'm having these really weird, very vivid memories. I'm having very vivid memories of insignificant things that I thought had long been forgotten. For instance, I had a vivid memory of falling when I was camping about 21 years ago. In this memory, I could recall the tent color and everything sitting on the picnic table right down to the plastic fork box. It will just pass through my mind out of NOWHERE. I mean, I'm constantly having these very vivid flashbacks. Is anyone else experiencing that? I also have a thirst I can't quinch, even after bottles of Gatorade. I'm still thirsty when it's going down my throat.

At the beginning, yes, I did have those same flashbacks. My sister and I have long joked that we keep unpleasant things locked in a box in our heads, and one day, it was like someone opened the lid! I actually called her to tell her about it, so it is odd that you mention it. That sensation did eventually fade, as I'm coming up on around day 50 off of Cymbalta, but for the first few weeks, I felt what you described, AND my dreams were extremely vivid as well. It was like I had ingested a hallucinogenic drug.

I was thirsty too, and I think it was in due in part to the fact that I was constantly grazing, and may have eaten too much sodium. Try just drinking water for awhile, and see if that helps.

I put this on the wrong board and can't figure out how to delete it? Any suggestions? I click on edit, but there is no option to delete.

Sorry, I thought there was an option to do that. You can contact Ken or Erin and ask them to delete the thread, or just leave it as is. No big deal!

i can not say that i have had vivid memories while awake however my dreams are intense and realistic and very strange. they are often of things that have happened in the past that also seemed or in fact are quite minor and insignificant. weird for sure but in my opinion the least annoying of all the side effects

i keep reading post going oh wow that's part of this too - not just part of my own normal kookyness....

just today i've been reminiscing more than usual... not necessarily vividly but things i just haven't thought about in a long time... usually its triggered by something going on, but i feel like i have a personal story/ memory that's connected to everything... i actually find it kind of fun and reassuring that i hadn't lost those memories (especially ones with people who have passed... it's good to see their faces in my mind again!) I have always had a strong smell/sound - to memory association so it will be interesting to see how that plays in along the way...

as far as weird sleep things... i don't know if you have ever had an episode where you have passed out... I was probably twenty before I did, even though I watched literally thousands of instances of it happening (my mum and sis have a real bad time with it... like this one time... sorry I was going to digress into another memory... come to think of it I do remember details I just don't know if they are right... hmmm...) it took longer to get to me... the whole fuzzyness quieziness...and having people yell at you to bring you round. I've started to experience that in my sleep. I asked my doctor about it when I broke down at the beginning of the week because I was afraid I was actually passing out and if you stay out too long you can do some damage you know?... he surprised me- he gave me the same look he always does and said "well youngun... it happens sometimes... same as when you feel like you are falling. Just like when I bolted my bed to the wall and told myself that as long as I stayed in the bed I knew I wouldn't go anywhere because logically I fixed the bed from falling." I laughed out loud in his office in the midst of a suicidal manic breakdown. I love my doc... and I believe him... sometimes we have to play games with our own minds. I haven't had any trouble since I talked to him about it... I think part of that is that I am having to mildly sedate myself to even get to sleep right now... but from what he was saying after his story about bolting his bed to the wall... once he realized that it would go away, or that nothing would happen (as in the falling) it never bothered him again...

now blake if the paralysis last for more than a few minutes after you wake up dude, i don't know what to tell you (except I think a trip to the doc...).... but maybe (and this is me just speculating) your brain is still "zapping" while you are asleep and then when you wake up it takes longer for your brain to tell the rest of you that you are awake because it's so side tracked... that would explain the vibrations (the zapps) and a temporary paralysis... which isn't uncommon to wake up with anyway... especially if you are having stressful and strange dreams (its much more common to wake up with temporary paralysis after those kinds of dreams) i seem to remember a couple of classes on the subject of sleep paralysis (which i know is scary as anything when it happens!) I will try to find some notes from class and see if anything jumps out for ya!

Oh my gosh, I read this yesterday which is my first day of a lower dose and I skipped Sunday all together. I had a bad head ach but was doing OK. I awoke having had a wonderful Vivid dream of people I have not thought about in ages. I remembered every crack in the counter top of the home I once lived in. My room mates were there and even a girl friend who passed on many years ago. We looked our current age today even though I have not seen these people in 25 years. This dream wasn't such a bad thing for me and it scares me to think just how powerful our memories are and how little we use this brain or ours unless induced. Day 2 (today) doing OK but will take my first Prozac after lunch.
