Today was day 6 without any Cymbalta and I have to say that it was the best so far. I've had the brain shocks but they are not as intense and for the most part I could go on and ignore them. Also, last night my dreams weren't so vivid that I couldn't sleep. I'm getting ready to go to bed now and I think I'll be able to fall asleep without any problems. I forgot to mention that I'm on my 5th week of drinking an awesome nutritional supplement called Reliv and I think that probably is helping me a lot. I hope everyone else has a great day like I just had. You're all in my prayers.

You can't buy it in stores. A friend of mine started using it and has now gotten me to use it. You can go to their website www.reliv.com for additional information. It is designed to put back all the nutrients and vitamins that our body needs but doesn't seem to get anymore. It has been around for over 20 years and was created by a doctor. There are lots of testimonials from people who have gotten completely off of Rx meds. Things like high blood pressure, migraines, kidney stones, chronic back pain, etc have gotten better or completely gone after consistently drinking the product. After everything I have been through with Cymbalta and the experience my 14 year old had with Accutane, I am so against Rx drugs and what the doctors and drug companies are doing to us. I would like to get where I never even have to take an Advil. (Sorry, I'm about to get on my soapbox) :D

This is off topic, but may I ask what experience your 14 year old had with accutane?

She has had the worst experience ever with Accutane. We had tried several other antibiotics and meds to get rid of the acne but nothing worked. I finally agreed to let the dermatologist prescribe a low dose of Accutane. Within a month or so, my daughter was periodically experiencing low back pain. By the end of the third month, it was so bad that she was hospitalized. I had called the dermatologist and asked if low back pain was a side effect of the medicine and was told no. So we ruled that out and kept looking. By looking, I mean she was hospitalized, had 2 CT scans (one with contrast, one without), 3 ultrasounds, bloodwork, an MRI, etc. She was seen by our family dr, a surgeon, and an OB/GYN. No one had a clue what was wrong. She was sent to a pediatric surgeon in Louisville, KY (he was the top guy at the children's hospital there) and he ended up doing exploratory surgery to see if he could find the problem. Nothing. Everything looked good. He then sent us to a pediatric gastroenterologist who did find that all 3 sections of her intestines were blocked. Again, side effects of the med. She went through a long week of being "cleaned out" but the pain was still there. Finally, after she had been on homebound from school and then tried to return but was missing so much b/c of the pain, our family dr made the statement that it had to be the Accutane b/c that was the only new thing. I left his office and went home and searched for side effects of accutane and thought I would die when I started reading. Turns out that lower back is a very common side effect (especially in girls aged 12-15). I am so mad at the dermatologist. I am getting all the info together and plan to have a sit down meeting with her. I immediately took her off the medicine and the pain stopped literally overnight. I started back about 3.5 weeks later so we started tracking it. About every 3 weeks or so it would resurface for 3-4 days at a time. I finally took her to a chiropractor who uses a lot of alternative, natural products. We found out that the med had damaged her liver (another long-term side effect) and causing it to put toxins out into her body. We've been treating her now for a month with weekly adjustments and daily supplements. It has been night and day. It looks like she is finally on the road to recovery. I would caution every parent to NOT put their child on this med. If you've ever read anything about it, you know that there are a lot of hoops you jump through each month to get the Rx filled. If someone takes it and becomes pregnant while on it or within a month of taking it, there is a 100% chance that there child will be born with serious side effects (or may not survive at all). If that doesn't speak volumes, I don't know what does.

Anyway, sorry I rambled, but you can probably guess what this experience did to my daughter not only physically, but emotionally. And as a mom it was horrible. We never want to see our kids sick and this was so scary. Please discourage anyone from this product. I rank it right up there with Cymbalta. However, my biggest gripe is against the medical doctors who are nothing but drug pushers anymore. I am seriously to the point where I'm trying to even come off of my blood pressure med. No more Rx drugs if I can help it.

Wow, what a mess! Thanks for sharing her story. I have a condition called Intracranial Hypertension, and although mine has no know cause, thereby being idiopathic, some people get it after taking cycline antibiotics, and accutane is also a known cause. So, I was praying that your daughter didn't have this condition. How horrible that she went through what she did!

It was awful and I think it took what she went through to really make me see how Rx medicine can be so horrible. That's why I wanted off the cymbalta. My goal is to be completely Rx med free. After this, I only have my blood pressure med to get rid of.

I'm sorry for just now getting back to you. I haven't been on the site for almost a week. There are several Reliv products. Most people take the Reliv Now and the Innergize together 2x per day. Depending on individual health situations, you would add other supplements. The Reliv Now is $45 and the Innergize $22. If you decided that you liked the products and were going to continue with them, you can sign on as a distributor and buy wholesale...that is what I did. If you want to email me I will be glad to answer any more questions, etc. I'm new to the products but I can put you in touch with others who have used them. That is one of the best things about the company. People get the opportunity to talk first hand with others who have successfully used the products.
