    Trying to quit Cymbalta

Posted 31 October 2010 - 10:51 PM

Wow.

I just came on to update my post on here 'Please help'... as I feel this EXACT same way. Long story short with me- I was on Cymbalta for a few years, and I slowly have weaned off over the whole summer and up until now. I'm down from 60 mgs to 4 beads a day. 4 little tiny beads. I know I could just stop taking them, I doubt 4 beads is doing anything, but I'm scared to finally be officially off. Anyway- I also FEEL LIKE HELL. I came on tonight to update my post to get others opinions on if I should go back on. I hate how I feel right now. I'm more emotional than I have ever been, my cramps are physically UNBEARABLE (I haven't had kids yet, but I imagine this is what labor must feel like), I have NIGHTMARES TOO!!! I've never had them until now being almost weaned off... I have them every night. And they usually are about the things that MADE ME GO ON THIS DANG DRUG!!!!!! I hate it. I'm nauseous, dizzy, feel sick, am moody, grumpy, I cry over almost everything.. and usually NEVER cry. It's awful.

I guess I don't have any advice or support to give, other than that- I'm going through it too and I understand how you feel. It's pretty crappy. I'm considering just 'flushing' all my progress and going back on it. I hate the person I am being right now. I'm exhausted from feeling like this. :( :(

I'm so sorry that this is happening to you. I'll keep you posted if I find anything that helps. Feel free to drop me a line on my posting or my profile on here. This is a really great site and I have gotten so much support and advice. It's like a big anti-Cymbalta hug. Keep at it. Don't forget about your family and friends who have helped you.. it sounds like you have people who care about you... keep them posted and they will be even more supportive during this crappy time you are going through. I'm so sorry. It WILL get better.
