I have been taking Cymbalta for over three years. It was prescribed for depression assoicated with my husband's terminal illness. He passed away a year ago, and I continue to take the pills. I don't know if I am depressed anymore...I feel numb. My sister recently told me that I seem different and not my normal self. I know this may be related to the Cymbalta. I am moving soon and want to be my old cheerful alert person when I am with my family.
I am afraid of the withdrawal.

After being on Cymbalta for five years, in February I knew it was time to quit. I was placed on Cymbalta when my husband was diagnosed with a terminal illness. He passed away 1-1/2 years ago and yet I continued to take the medication. In February I asked to go off the medication and my new physician (after moving to another state) felt I should remain on it for another year. Since I had to change health insurance, Cymbalta is costing me $135.00 I don't have the money for medication. Starting in February with 3 months of pills, I started cutting back, first every other day, every third day and finally two times per week. I have no pills left and am having side effects. Headache, upset stomach, crying periods, prombles sleeping, eating, and thinking , a few thoughts of suicide, and something I have NEVER experienced before….extreme, aggressive anger …even throwing things. I am also shakey and have trouble thinking.

I figure I have two to three weeks of this…here are my questions:

Can any offer my any advice as to reduce the effects.
Will a month of prozax (which I have read on this site) help. I also have medication for anxiety and am wondering if I should use this is help with the side effects.

If I had know how AWFUL I would be feeling, I would never have started this darn medication
