I dont trust my doctor enough to let her in my decision to go off cymbalta. Im a good judge of character and I just cant do it. I've told them to much personal stuff about my life that she can hold against me. She is better than my old shink who used to talk about jerking off all the time. (stange dude) I'll never spill my guts to anyone but my wife AGAIN. This is day 4 off cymbalta for me and I want to rip out my old kitchen with a sledge hammer, but still leave all the plates and glasses in the cabinets. START FRESH. I didnt do it so I'm still in control. I have been taking alot of valium to help with withdrawals. I dont know what to expect. Is it worse that cocaine? or Xanax? I've detoxed off almost everything so far (even cigrettes which was the HARDEST) and I think I can handle it. But it still has only been a few days. :?

By your doctor, I guess you mean a psychiatrist? I compeltely understand. If you start to go downhill, do you have a general practitioner that can help you out?

If you see improvements in the withdrawal, then keep on keeping on.

I can tell from your posts that you are determined and wish you luck. Come here and post, vent and support others. it really does help you and the others here going through the same thing know that they haven't gone crazy.

As far as what to expect, you have to go through and read everybodys stories, everybody has had really different experiences. We were taking a drug that alters our brain chemistry and when Cymbalta is stopped, it takes some people a few days, a couple weeks or longer for their brain chemistry to return to balance.

So, expect that you will be through this soon! Being positive through this can only help. By reading the stories, you will know what you MIGHT feel like and what MIGHT happen to you, not what will.

Be safe and hope you are seeing much improvement today.
