So glad to have found this site! I have been going through this on and off when I forget to take my med even for a day or two... Reminds you really quick when you feel like you got your brain shocked! I literally feel like I touched an electric fence with my brain. I have been crying, mean, complaining about everything, trying to tear my family apart, unable to sleep until 2-5 am, unable to concentrate, just don't care about anything, think no one cares about me..., diarrhea, just normal aches & pains all over. etc... I had surgery on thurs and the nausea is killing me. I can't eat anything! I am a nurse, used to seeing blood and nothing makes me vomit, but suddenly, I can't look at the pet fish, can't watch someone eat etc..without needing to dry heave! thought this sleeplessness, nausea, diarrhea all related to my surgery, but after reading other posts, I think it is my withdrawls! I always knew the brain shocks were the cymbalta withdrawl. But, when I ask the pharmacist or dr. they seem like I am crazy and no one has EVER reported such a off the wall symptom... Glad to hear, but sorry too, that others have this. We really do need to band together to make sure the drug company is VERY AWARE of this! It really is total hell. I too have never experimented with drugs or suicide, but one guy posted, in his previous years, he would have turned to mary jane to help his symptoms, and after feeling so bad, I am thinking it's worth a try! :P Not really. I have a family too and would not do that, but I see how someone could definately turn to an irrational behavior! Please, let me know if someone else has these SHOCKS in the brain, sure would be interesting to see what goes on in the brain during an ECG, wish I could volunteer! Anyone know how long this crap lasts???

Because we all have very different brain chemistry - some of us are over this fast and others it takes awhile. Hope that you are somebody that it eases up on quickly.

How many days have you been off of what dose?

I took 60 mg for probably 2 years, then 30 mg for 2 weeks, then I took 30 mg every other day for a week. As a nurse, I thought this was a great way to taper off, but, I think it has just strung it out the terrible symptoms even longer...

How long does this shocking in my brain usually last?? I can handle the other stuff, but this makes me crazy!

My last pill was approx. 1 week ago.

Every other day doses, because of the short half life of Cymbalta, put you into withdrawal, every other day.

Can you ask a doctor that works with you about possibly taking one or two doses of Prozac to get you through.

For me, I had the zaps bad the first week, then second week only a few. I sent you a PM to respond to your other question from another post!
