OKAY! I dont know what day this is 4-5 ?? First it was paxil, i came. Then it was Effexor, I saw. Now Cymbalta, I Conquered?? Not yet! I am having serious brain zaps, and this is day 2 of incredible back and neck pain. I feel like batman. I cant turn my head and have to turn my whole body....I did not drive today as a result, i thought it was too dangerous..either that or im having serious lethargy. I was taking 60mg and I am in between insurance companies, moreover, i would have to pay full price to see my doctor and also full price to get my script. I suppose i could get some samples, infact, i may do so as soon as i can move my neck and shoulders. I have to change clothes atleast 3-4 times a night due to sweating like im sleeping in a toaster oven...if i sleep at all that is. The mental aspect is In and Out, however, this physical aspect of withdrawls from this goddamm drug is CONSTANT. Im sweating profusely right now as a type. I read that benedryl helps, and to basically treat these symptoms like the flu....I noticed xanax has helped as well. I dont know if i am going to continue to take this drug when my Insurance gets straight or if i am at the point of no return. God i feel like i am on speed or something. I look forward to another all-nighter :geek: If anyone has ANY SUGGESTIONS BY ALL MEANS!!! i am completely open minded, i know how serious these drugs are and they are not to be taken lightly!

The Benedryl does help. I relied on lorazpam for 3 weeks and now I'm so depressed from possibly the benzodiazpams. I'm still trying to taper off the lorazpam and it is just as hard as some of the other antidepressants. So maybe don't go there and try the benedryl. You may still crash as I have and relaspe into depression so think about another antidepressant just in case. The selections are all lousy but what did you tolerate the best? good luck

Alas another human being in the same dimention or atleast close to the same one as myself. I figured as much about the benzodiazapams, and i am much like yourself, trying to taper off both those and the antidepressants. I purposely, for some dumbass reason or another, a while back, and probably out of pure ignorance, just decided one day i wasnt going to take the cymbalta (god only knows) and i went about a week w/o it and i'll be dammed if i feel worse now after about 3 or 4 days than I did that whole time, and that was cold turkey as well....i dunno what the difference is, one could make an argument that now I've been on it longer than i was at the time i did that but we're only talking about 3weeks difference, i guess that can mean the world in terms on antidepressants....From all the bullshit i've taken, and they reallllly had to almost coerse me into taking this, i would honestly say paxil helped the most, atleast i could tell the most difference....i cant tell when im on cymbalta, but you can bet your ass i can tell when im not....but mysteriously one day the paxil worked no longer.....some people or MD's would prob. suggest i get a higher dose, but the reason i no longer take paxil is b/c of when one decides to come off of it due to will power or stupidity...i dont know, but the withdrawal effects from paxil much liket his and effexor resemble that of nicotine maybe or possibly to the extent of heroin.....I am about to run out of food i have eaten so much jeeez...i've taken the benadryl and shit, and it maybe just placebo or coincidence but the head zaps have gone away or atleast arent as severe, however,im still awake and cant sleep...when i truly need benadryl (ie allergies..ect) it knocks my ass out completely...yet here i am

PsychoNaut - I had the Cymbalta "stop" working for me, just like you did with Paxil. Don't know why. I also read that coming off of Paxil and Effexor are similar to Cymbalta. Although when I have read some of the Effexor stories, I thank my lucky stars I was not prescribed that one.

Cymbalta withdrawal is pretty harsh for some people. You mentioned you were coming off of Cymbalta and your benzo at the same time? Of course, you should talk to your doctor about all of this.

But if you are doing this on your own - and coming off of both, you may want to consider taking the benzo as prescribed to help you through the worst of the Cymbalta stuff. Then concentrate on coming off the benzo. Give your brain chemistry a chance to reajust to one thing before adding in the other.

Hope you are doing well - sorry, I got a little confused trying to figure out how long you haven't been taking Cymbalta and how long you took it.

Take it easy.
