trying to get this toxin out of my body!

Hello to all,

I have been on cymbalta for the last 6ish years. Started at 60mg then up to 120mg and finally abuot 6mos ago 180mg. Last month my pharmacist told me my ins. co wouldn't pay for my total refill, just 2 of the 3 pills a day. So I called my doctor, they told me to come in. Long story short they said we'll just drop you down and try something else. That first interaction I never really got an answer for why they denied it after 6mos? Anyhow, I have been on the 120 dose, for about 3 weeks. Yep....same as the rest of you...zaps, flu like symptoms, nightmares, exhausted, achy, pain in my back and neck. I am concerned however for something on top of the obvious...most of you are talking about the symptoms being bad when you go cold turkey...I've only dropped 30 and I'm there. Also, after researching for myself....I don't see many if any who have been on 180...my concerns; what damage may have been done? Also, I am on requip as well and before took zoloft and lyrica with the 120 dose. I can only imagine what my withdrawls will look like let alone what to expect as far as the length of them. Any help, comments, anything would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

Jac

Jac-
First off, I am so sorry that you feel like crap. SO NOT FAIR!

Secondly, what type of Dr. had you on 180mg? That's AMAZING! 180mg for depression????

    coming off Cymbalta

Some time ago I contacted Erin Brockovich that now has Cymbalta on her site...
www.erinbrockovich.com

Tell her your story, get off the meds. Unless your doctor performed tests to determine you needed to be on these drugs and at such a toxic dosage, which I was also on, its really dangerous. Blood tests or urine? CAT scan? A physical?? Or did you sit in a chair, tell him/her why you were there and in 15 minutes how you were feeling was one of 50 disorders and they put you on the drug that also happens to pay them a nice yearly bonus to promote.
I have spent weeks of my life looking into the marketing gurus pharmaceutical co.s are....brilliant at marketing their psychotropic drugs. The 2 worst things that can hit a pharmaceutical co. is to have a patient die or be cured.
Get in touch with me if I can help...its been 7 months and I am almost completely off both drugs. I did it myself, managing your own body and health is what it comes down to here.
Regards,

Cat

180mg sounds crazy. It's going to take a while for you to wean yourself off that (to experience no side-effects)

Probably would take 6 months.

I heard on the internet while doing some Cymbalta research, that Cymbalta isn't intended for doses above 60mg. They aren't really sure even if it makes a theraputic difference when you take doses higher than 60mg.

Jac, How are you doing? Please check in and we can help support you. 180 mg is indeed insane. No wonder your insurance company rebelled. I would quit seeing whatever dr. put you on that much. Do you have a large body (or brain LOL?...may be why they gave you a large dose. I used to me on 120 and it would make my legs do weird neurological things....that was my hint I was taking too much.
