Hi guys. Im brand new here & just found you by browsing the withdrawal effects of this horrible stuff. Ive been taking Cymbalta now for three years. It stopped working a long time ago and since ive only continued taking it to avoid withdrawals. I take the 60mg and if i go more than 30 or so hours without a dose the "brain zaps" start. Ive been trying to explain this strange, electric sensation to my Dr. & my boyfriend for forever & am relieved that im not alone & its been given a name. Ive tried to drop down to a 30mg dose with no avail, the "brain zaps" start immediately, not to mention I become a lunatic. I guess im here because im really scared. Ive read that these symptoms can last for up to 3 months. Im not adverse to taking an opiate or benzodiazapine to curb the withdrawal. I really need some advice & encouragement. By the way, i feel really misled, im sure im not alone. Has anyone looked into starting a class-action suit against Eli Lilly?

Im back again. Ive discovered that 40mg or more of a synthetic opiate (hydrocodone, oxycodone) completely take away the "brain zaps". This is all good & fine in the moment but i was once a heroine junkie and am all too familiar with those withdrawals as well. 40mg is a little on the high side & i dont want to go through that evil again either. My pharmacist recommended that i take diazapam (valium). I am so incredibley disillusioned. I wish there were a cheap answer, an easy out with no consequences. I guess it wouldnt be worth achieving if it required no strife, right? I guess i know the answers to most of my own questions, i just dont want to accept them. Wow, listen to me whining. Can u tell i skipped a dose? someone just answer one one question, does it really take 3 months, on average? Heres a good joke; 3 yrs ago my Dr took me off effexor & put me on this crap b/c it had "little to no side effects".

My god. Might as well start toking up the H. I cant believe i take this @#$%. I work in a law office. I stirred the pot a little today & I think i can get a class action suit ready. I know you're not interested in any stressful legal battle but in the end it might get cymbalta off the market, i hope.

The day the corruption in the pharmaceutical industry stops is the day snow falls in hell. With the risk of sounding like a conspiracy theorist, the $ these people pay the fda/government off with dictates what you see on the market. It saddens me to know that at the end of the day its all about the all mighty dollar and what people are willing to do to others to get their hands on it.
Hey, Graybeard. Off subject, a few comments you've made tell me that you'd be right at home in my home-town. Sedona, AZ, have you ever been?

Yes, I've been to Sedona several times..... can't afford to live there tho'. I used to live in Phoenix in the late '80s teaching guitar building, I'm just an old hippy...........

Peace,
Greybeard

Day 60 ....... raining out and I'm miserable.

My parents too :D , hippies i mean. On the off chance, did you know a Robbie Windes (musician) or a Linda Thornton (dealer) from the Mill ave, Tempe area?

BTW sorry to hear you're feeling badly.
