withdrawing off of Cymbalta for the 2nd time in 5 years. Long time AD user. Experiences might be helpful

Hey folks,

This was Day 7 now ceased, which had hijacked Miss Ambers thread. Now a new thread.

For background go back on read my day 7 thread, I don't want to cover old ground.

I would like to hear from, or have them post here, anyone who has or is experiencing intense withdrawal symptoms, after MORE than 21 days or 3 weeks after having completely stopped. Whole different ball game.

Bottom line is I still feel like shit. GI symptoms mostly. I saw a GI specialist on Friday, I have a colonoscopy and endoscopy scheduled for next Wednesday. MY CT results were negative. If these new tests come back negative, then I have exhausted every diagnostic tool I know of. And I am left with nothing other than the extended effects of cymbalta withdrawal.

So. Anyone been here before.

Thanks
chris

Just curious have you been eating anything with anti oxidants? It might be something worth trying- (I am not a nutritionist by any means, just an average joe) I believe anti oxidants clear the body out. (blueberries etc). I know this is slighly off but my dog was on doggy death row with liver failure and all I did was switch out his food for homemade food which consisted of beets, parlsey, blueberries, broccoli, canned salmon and carrots. I know its alot easier to give this to a dog that will eat anything and doesnt complain but after placing him on this particualr diet his liver enzymes did a complete 180 and now is his perfectly fine. So nutrition might be something worth looking into...

just a thought.

thanks for the thought.

Its actually something I have tried. My wife is very large on nutrition. So its been a lot of parsley, carrots, and especially broccoli. No luck. In the past few weeks I have had every blood test know to modern man. My liver function tests were all normal. Cirrhosis or liver cancer was my first thought because I have been a moderate consumer of alcohol all my life and I take lipitor which is known for its potential for liver damage.

In my mind right now, as I wait for the endoscopy and colonoscopy on Wednesday, is that in my absolute best case scenario the findings are all negative and all my gastric and related symptoms are in fact due to the protracted effects of cymbalta withdrawal. The second best case is that I have a peptic ulcer caused by h. Pylori, which is can be treated anti-biotics. Why the idiot GI guy didn't start me on these a couple of weeks ago, just in case, I'll never know. The third case, well, whatever it is, I'm totally screwed. I have had cancer twice in 5 years and am preparing for a trifecta.

So as I said. I hope I am in the midst of a long nasty cymbalta withdrawal.

Thats why I still wish to hear from anyone who has been done this road.

thanks
chris

I c/t'd from 60mg in 2009. Went back on and started tapering. Spent the next 4 years trying to get off. It was very difficult. Finally stopped at 17 beads on Dec.4, 2013.

Hi Chrism23,

I just wanted to say that I quit Cymbalta C/T a year ago. Full blown w/d symptoms did not even

hit me until I had been off for 6 wks. Horrible GI symptoms, diarrhea and nausea. So I know it

is possible you are still suffering w/d. I wish for you the best case scenario. Good luck.
