While I'm sorry that there is such a need for this site, I'm so grateful to have found this site for the wealth of information that it provides! Since it sounds like so many people have managed to find doctors that are willing to help them taper off the drug instead of going cold turkey, would someone be able to recommend a doctor for me in the St. Louis area? A little background: I have made several calls to my doctor's office and they are basically in denial that I am experiencing w/d symptoms from trying to wean off of this drug. At first my doctor told me to just stop taking it, when I called and said that the headaches, brain zaps and crying jags were more than I could handle he was willing to let me do a 2 week taper. I have been on 60mg for almost 6 years and jumping down to 40mg overnight is way too severe for me, but my doctor either doesn't believe me, doesn't care or both. Either way I cried like an idiot at work today from the stress (which is terrible under the best of circumstances) but I almost quit my job over my inability to handle the stress on top of these w/d symptoms. If I don't find a more sympathetic doctor that will help me wean off more slowly, I fear what tomorrow will bring.... Can anyone help? I really can't afford to have to quit my job, being a single parent, etc. Sending healthy and positive thoughts out to all of you : )
