I have been tapering off Cymbalta for about 2 weeks now. A week ago i broke out in hives and my doctor believes that it might be linked to the Cymbalta. (she is not a big fan of the drug) Has anybody else expereinced this? I also have gained 20 pounds on it. My counselor wants me to start Welbutrin but I think that I am going to hold off on that and see how I do on my own.

Look her up under members and send her a Private Message. She was the only person I remember who posts here with a hive problem. She might be able to lend you some advice as to why?
If you see good improvement, stay off of the other anti, but if you see yourself going downhill fast, don't rule out taking another antidepressant to get over this quicker. I did not take Wellbutrin, but another antidepressant to get me through and it worked like a charm for me. It isn't the way for everybody, but looking back, I wish I would have found a new doctor about 3 weeks sooner than I did.
