    Cymbalta withdrawal

Posted 11 March 2011 - 10:01 PM

I was on 30 mg of Cymbalta for a few months for some nerve pain from surgery I had. A month ago I noticed I was getting depressed, anxious, shaky, and hungry! I live on a pretty modest diet and a couple days of dieting and the shakes get extremely worse until I eat a lot of food, carbs, and sugar.

I told my doctor I wanted off this drug! I am now taking 20mg and still feel crazy! I'm shaking all the time. I get some relief from eating mostly sugar.

I'm suppose to start tapering this Sunday off the 20mg by not taking it, then taking it 2 days and do this for a week. Then every other day for a week, then every 3rd day for a week, then stop. This is my doctors plan for me.

Does this sound like a good plan? If I had it my way I'd be off this drug for good tomorrow and just deal with the withdrawal. I just want the shaking and needing food to stop. I've already put on some pounds. I can't do anymore of this!

Hi holly, I think different things work best for different people. If i had my weening process to go through again I would VERY gradually reduce the dose, take it daily, and ween as slowly as possible. I only cut my dose for a few weeks. Then experienced the worst withdrawals for months. I too thought id just deal with the withdrawals. I never expected it to be as horrific as it was and last as long as it did. make sure to take fish oils and other supplements to help. I started taking this weeks back and thinks it's helping a lot.http://oceans3.com/Formulas/BetterBrain/tabid/1655/Default.aspx
