Excellent idea! I think what you will start to see, is that as time passes, the GOOD THINGS start getting way more noticeable. While in the throngs of withdrawal, I still noticed small positive changes each day, even though I had to look for them. That was my way of knowing that I was starting to heal.

Great thread GB!!

A young lady my daughter went to school with is going through Effexor withdrawals, but I have not yet convinced her to come to this site, so I work with her via myspace email. This is the very thing I told her to do this past Thursday. She seems to drive herself crazy going after 'wild, hunky guys' and feels that she is not good enough for them. I told her to write down all of her good quailties. I ALMOST told her to write down her bad qualities...THINKING that her good would out weigh the bad, but some people have such low self esteem that they may find more bad...(In their own minds) than good.....so I told her to make sure she only wrote down her good qualities and think about them. Too, when someone writes down their bad quailities, its easy to dwell on them and become even more depressed. But that was a great idea Greybeard.

Good Things! Amen to good things list and writting it down. I was just going back through some of my "good things" writtings and smiled and said, yea I remember that and yea, I remember that.
In this world of instant news we hear so much of the bad things, our world is programed to instantly tell us the bad thing that happened 3 minutes ago in China or France or Dallas. We need to take five inutes and write down "Good Things". Wow what a refresher it is for your brain when you read it back to yourself at a later time.
Good thing: today, water, I did a good thign for myself and drank only water!
Good thing: good food for lunch
Good thing: quite time and bible reading and pray time for 30 minutes this morning
Good thing: Helped a friend with her vision of feeding homeless people
Good thing: Read and replied to several post on Cymbaltawithdrawl.com
Good thing: Sent an email to someone who needs encouragement
Good thing: Held onto the positive attitude when I need to today
Good thing: I am one day farther from cymbalta than I was yesterday

Start and you will feel good. You need the good stuff input into your brain daily, hourly, heck every minute. The more we put in of good things, the less room for the junk. At least in my brain thats how it works, I only have so many cells for storage, seems less and less as I grow older so all the more reason to flush out the bad and put in the good things! Can I get an amen from the pews? LOL :D :)
