Last week was so much better than this week. I wish this would stop. Mostly my withdrawal has been physical, but the past few days I am feeling very depressed again. What is the longest anyone on here has experienced the effects of this drug? It is horrible...good one day , bad the next, etc..... Thanks for any insight.

Everyone's time frame is so different, and so much has to do with what else is going on with your life, how well you are sleeping, your nutrition etc.

Ask yourself if you are feeling depressed, or maybe just having a bad few days, or actually just feeling something again. I say this because Cymbalta just deadens you to feeling anything. At the earlier stages for me, when I started feeling happy, or sad, or angry, it was such a strange sensation, because for the better part of 2 years, on Effexor and Cymbalta, I felt nothing.

You are supposed to feel emotions, and feeling blue is part of that. BUT, don't ignore it if it is the most prevailing feeling that you are having. If you are also showing other signs of depression returning, be sure to talk to your doctor. You may need some medical help with this if it gets to be too much.

Forgive me if you have already read all of this, or responded elsewhere, but have you tried an Omega 3 supplement, or eating foods high in them? Have you tried staying away from processed food as much as possible, getting outside in the sun for awhile each day?

Also, try writing down each good thing that you are noticing since being off of this. GB suggested this in another post on the board. You may have to really think about it, but try each day to see what good has happened. That doesn't mean that the negative feelings are not valid, but it just helps to shift your focus a bit, and let you see how far you have come in this battle with Cymbalta. It is NOT an easy thing to do, and having come this far is something you can be proud of. It is a battle, and those of us here have been, or are there too, so we are here to lift you up, and help you get through this.

Stay as calm as you can, listen to soft music, and breathe. Remember that what you are feeling is your body and brain trying to stablize again. We are al here for you, so post and vent as often as you need to.

Mo
You can only take it one day at a time, get through this day, use allyour energy to get through today, right now. Try not to worry about tomorrow or next week, nothing you can fo about it anyway. But you can do something about the now, take a walk, take a nap, read post on this website, pray, talk to a friend, vent here via posting like many of us have. Writting here helps get it out and set it up so yuou get notified of replies to your post, that helps knowing people are posting a reply for you.

Check back in with us every few days so we know how your are doing, we care about you and everyone on this site.

I will be praying for you
Jeff
