Amazingly yesterday I found out that taking Cymbalta along with my migraine meds is highly contraindicated. I'm very surprised that my drs nor my pharmacists cautioned me....and actually had 6 of the 10 diagnosers of the potentially fatal seritonin syndrome. Of course, I realized all this after 5PM on a Friday so getting a hold of my dr will likely be impossible until Monday. I plan to talk to the pharmacist I use to see what they have to say and then also talk to my drs on early next week to find out how to ween off Cymbalta all together. Usually, when I decide to get off a medication, I just do it cold turkey and had thought about doing it with this. But something in my gut told me to research it first to find out what could happen. I'm so glad I did. Because I'm not sure I would have survived alone! Thanks to everyone out there for letting the rest of us know of their battles with coming off this 'miracle" drug. Like many of you, I was simply told this was going to "fix" me and was never told of ANY of the side effects or withdrawl problems. Ironically, I was even told I would likely only have to be on this short-term.

I just recently moved to take on a new job and while I know folks here, I don't know anyone well enough to say "Hey can you come help me as I apparently go through heroine withdrawal with this?" My husband still lives in NY and would happily be with me....but the job situation may not allow it... So, this might get very interesting... Glad you folks are all out there. That will likely help tremendously!!

Good luck to everyone out there....

Lora,

Don't panic. You can get off Cymbalta without a lot of pain. I have a very stressful job and no one here has the slightest idea I'm tapering off Cymbalta as I have little to no withdrawal symptoms. The best way to do it to experience little or no withdrawal symptoms is the bead-counting method. This requires patience. I hardily encourage you to be patient. Most meds you can get off pretty fast...not this one.

Here is info on the best most painless way to taper off Cymbalta: https://www.cymbalta...f-off-cymbalta/

I was on Cymbalta for 2 months and the side effects were awful and it did not help with my fibro so I went off cold turkey. I was on travel for work and needed sleep! Well that was two weeks ago and since then I feel like I have a constant case of morning sickness. Now my nausea lasts about 3 hours a day and starts like clockwork the same time every day. For those 3 hours I feel like total HELL and am trying to find ways to fight through it so I can work. I keep hoping that this will be over soon so I can go back to some normalcy. After I get through the nausea I feel just fine, except for some insomnia - which amazingly enough I am not exhausted.

I personally would never recommend this drug to anyone.
