Hey guys,I stumbled upon this website and figured I would give my two cents. I have suffered from severe (i.e. suicidal thoughts and all that fun stuff) depression and have been going through the list of antidepressents trying to find the one that works for me. I have been on Cymbalta for about 10-12 weeks at a dose of 90 mg, but am not pleased with the results, so I'm moving on. In addition to depression, I must deal with good ole' anxiety too. I was given Klonopin to help deal with this symptom. I just tapered down on Cymbalta from 60 for a week, to 30 for a week, and am now completely off it. I feel bad for you out there that have been on this for an extended period of time and are coming off of this stuff. But, I have found that the Klonopin greatly reduces the severity of withdrawal symptoms. To my understanding, anxiety is caused by the norepinephrine shortage, which is produced in part through dopamine. Since Klonopin is there to help somebody with an imbalance in this chemical lineup, it makes sense to me why this stuff may be coming in handy. The main side affect is sleepiness, and there is very minor withdrawal symptoms associated with it. It does effectively give immediate relief to severe episodes of withdrawal, within minutes instead of days like prozac probably does. I've also been tapering onto zoloft, but have only been on full dosage for a few days. Overall, my tidbit is benzodiazepines seem to help those get through tough times. Be wary of fast acting agents such as xanex because as you know short half life equals a bumpy road for withdrawal
