Hi again all!

I thought after the first week of a moderate hell coming down from 60 to 30mg, I was going to be ok to take the next step. The second week...I felt better than I had in YEARS!!! But this week...has been rough and I'm not sure what it all is! I had a very emotional nite on Monday and woke up with my "usual" after-crying headache the next morning. Didn't think a whole lot about it, but did feel generally "crappy" all day Tuesday. Ironically, I had a drs follow up from the step down that afternoon. And my BP was up a bit. Now, it was "only" 140/92 that day, but for me, that's high as I generally run on the low side of normal. Wednesday, I felt even worse, only, like I was getting a cold. I went down to our little health clinic in the bldg and had them check my BP again. Still high: 142/37. After going to bed early and sleeping like a freaking rock, I woke up still feeling the same...bad. So, trudged in to work and had the nurse take the BP again: 157/98!!!! Now my head is pounding, I'm nauseous and I keep asking...is this the C withdrawal or something else. No one is willing to say it's the C b/c it's not WRITTEN IN THEIR LITTLE PILL BOOK. So, it's got to be something else. Maybe it is...but...this is not normal for me. They want me to increase exercise....but my head just pounds when I do anything that increases my pulse rate (even speaking up on a conference call nearly made me puke from the pain).

So, has anyone else had their BP increase as a result?? Or is this now something new that I get to deal with????

I am the victim of Cymbalta withdrawals. I am hoping to find a network of support and information regarding this. And to help others that are experiencing the same.

My BP usually measures 107/54. always. The worst day it measured 145/95!! I haven't had it measured in a couple of days. I am very concerned about this. After reading your post I am thinking I should monitor it more often. I did read somewhere in all the Cymbalta symptoms that increased BP is a common symptom.

I don't want to say that I'm glad to see I'm on the only one, but I was beginning to think that I now have another health issue to worry about outside of the current ones...although I guess I still might. Like you, I've always teetered with textbook normal or even below. And it hasn't been back to normal since I wrote my first message here. I also have noticed an increase in headaches but don't know if that's what's causing the higher BP or the other way around or the Cymbalta or...etc etc etc. This is so frustrating. I just want to be "normal" again....or at least feel that way...

Thanks for responding!!

WOW! I HAVE HIGH BP AND HAVE BEEN ON MEDS FOR IT. HERE LATELY IT HAS BEEN A BIT HIGH,
I KEPT THINKING IT WAS BECAUSE I HAVE BEEN HAVING HEADACHES OR MY ARTHRITIS INFLAMMATION.
SINCE I KNOW PAIN WILL CAUSE YOU BP TO BE HIGHER THAN NORMAL.

CAN'T WAIT TO BE OFF THIS DRUG AND HOPEFULLY GET BACK TO THE PERSON WAS BC (BEFORE CYMBALTA)

I too am glad to see that this is just one more commonality in going off of Cymbalta. My BP has been off the charts, and I know with everything I am experiencing, like most people here, that this is one more thing that may very possibly be yet another side effect. It should be low, since I have been extremely dehydrated and have been put on fluids once already, but it is the exact opposite. Can't wait for this all to be over with....much luck to us all!

YES! Let me assure you that high blood pressure is DEFINITELY a side effect that can happen when withdrawing from Cymbalta. I was on a very low dose per day of Cymbalta(20mg) and as soon as I stopped taking it my blood pressure would shoot up during the hours that I would normally take it. I am on day 7 away from Cymbalta and I am now on a mild high blood pressure med now to prevent this from happening.

I normally watch my BP because it had been running rather low (90/60) before Cymbalta. A couple of days ago, after quitting Cymbalta, it had shot up to 155/98, which scared the daylights out of me. I have BP meds and have taken them to bring the BP back down, but it's just one more misery with this drug.
