I have sort of hit rock bottom. All week I have had stomach cramping, diarrhea, and anxiety attacks. Everything is making me a mess. I am terribly worried I have Crohn's or somehting worse. Tomorrow I will see a GI doc. At this point, I am doubtful that at week 8 the symptoms are from Cymbalta. If any of you have had stomach cramps and diarrhea this late in the game....please, please, post. Thanks.

Momoftwo, hang in there, and like Greybeard, I am glad you have a doctors appt and I hope you MAKE him/her understand exactly what you are feeling!!!!
I am at day 61 and still when I am extremely tired I have a few brain zaps still. The heat could be contributing to the brain zaps or me being extra tired. I am still somewhat anxious at times, but it is easy to control. I just have to stop and think rationally and figure out why I am feeling anxious, or either go get busy with something. But I am also taking a supplement/natural vitamin that must be helping me. The supplement is probably equivilent to maybe prozac or something like that, I really dont know. But I do know that my life is very hectic right now, very stressful, and my being aggitated or irritable is almost none existent. But the brain zaps are occassional as is the anxiousness. I am taking Omega 3, Folic Acid (2 days a week), B12, daily vitamin, and Vitamin E.....and these things do help. I dont seem to have the strong desire for salmon lately, like I used to. So I see that as a good sign. You are in my thoughts and prayers, all of you. Be good to yourselves, go easy on yourselves.

MOT, did you have stomach issues before or while on Cymbalta? How has your diet been? Really think about the foods that you have been eating. Also, are you keeping hydrated?

If you are still having night sweats at all, and not drinking enough fluids, it could be the cause of your cramping and diahrea. It is good that you are getting them all checked out, because better safe than sorry, and you are feeling so miserable too.

Just remember that your emotions are still trying to stablize, in addition to feeling nasty, so you probably feel like one big ball of crap right now. While waiting to see the doctor, eat food that won't be likely to irritate your stomach further, such as applesauce, bananas, rice, toast, eggs etc. Drink plenty of fluids, water, orange juice, even pedialyte to ensure that your electrolytes are in balance.

It can take awhile to normalize, I am well past 90 days out, and I get the occasional brain zaps. We took a powerful drug, EVERY DAY for a long period of time, so it is reasonable to expect it to take awhile for it to stop haunting us. Some get past this quickly, and good for them! Some of us don't, but the main thing to know is that it will get better, even if it is slowly, and it will be worth the struggle.

Do your best to relax, and take care to rest and pamper yourself when you can. Ask for help at home. You will make it, and know that we are here.

A couple sites that helped me when I was having the GI issues (hehehe took me a bit to figure out that GI=GastroIntestinal) made the pain lessen. They tell what to eat or not to eat to reduce acid.

I went strictly on the foods from the first page and that helped me manage the pain until my stomache had a chance to heal.

I have not really given much thought to the Cymbalta causing my stomach alot of problems even though I read it all the time here. I know that when I started all the other drugs and CRAP, I stopped taking some of my other things simply because I was taking so much.......ummmm CRAP. So I stopped taking my Prilosec and ever since then I have had terrible acid reflux and burning stomach. I do take a natural anti acid that does not work very well. I thank you for the website address above.....I am going to check it out and see what to eat and what not to eat. My reflux gets so bad, if I know my boyfriend is going to make a mexican dish for dinner.......I get acid reflux just thinking about it.....
Thanks again,
Lori
