I'm attempting to wean myself off Cymbalta, but made a terrible mess trying to eliminate balls from the capsules on my own. Has anyone ever used a compounding pharmacy and, if so, know what's required to use their services?

Thanks,

kmsw

Hi

I tried to come off of Cymbalta this summer past from 30 mg and it nearly killed me- I had brain zaps, dizziness, nausea, vomitting, confusion, not able to eat, cold sweats and at times, not able to speak.

So i had to go back on it and my doctor has prescribed a lower dose of 15 mgs. I took the pescription to a compounding pharmacy and they were able to compound it for me. So, 15 mg I was ok for a month. I am now on 10mgs and off of work because of similar withdrawal. I will be seeing a pychiatrist in a couple of days and that is my advice you. Family doctors do not know the potency of this drug yet and it will end up killing someone before the company will come out with smaller doses. So yes, you just need your doctor to write you up a script for a lower dose. Good luck to you :)

Vanilla.

Support with terrible side effects and withdrawl symptoms of cymbalta

Hi There

I tried a compound pharmacy ( In Australia). They made up two weeks worth of 15mg it cost me $45 and it was worth it!! I had no withdrawal symptoms. I was set to go onto 7.5mg this week but found out I was pregnant, so had to stop immediately. I am having horrible brain zaps..

My plan was to assess how I went on 7.5mg, then go off completely and have prozac ready if I had bad withdrawal symptoms. I followed the advice of a another memember on this site and it was working...

As far as I know you don't need any specific permission to use a compound pharamacy. They are set up to deal with the beads and re encapsulating the medication.

Good Luck !!
