I have been on anti-depressants since 2004. My husband and I have decided to conceive and my OBGYN told me that I needed to be off anti-depressants because of the health risks to the baby. I contacted my physician and she told me to do the following. ( I was on Prozac 40 mg and Wellbutrin 300 mg from 04-2010. From 09/2010 till the present I have been taking Cymbalta 60mg and wellbutrin 300mg.) My doctor advised me to take 150mg of wellbutrin for three days then stop, ….which I did. She also advised me to take decrease my Cymbalta to 30mg for 7 days then stop, …which I did. It has now been 6 days off meds and I feel like sh**t. I am nauseous, extreme dizziness, anxiety, tremors, can’t tolerate any noise, vomiting, shortness of breath, and stomach cramps, and crying for no reason. I just want all of this to end. I can’t work and all I want to do is sleep, but I am restless. I have been taking 50 mg of Benadryl at night for the last 3 nights and it seems to help me relax … I feel like a junkie.

I wish I knew more about this drug before I started taking it!

Good Luck & hope you get to feeling better!

At 6 days and feeling all the same symptoms as you I took 1 pill..have been fine so far and am almost at 3 days. Dr told me I did not space out pills correctly and should have gone to 1 every 2 days for a week ...then 1 every 3 days...1 every 4 days before trying to stop. Hope this helps you..stay in touch...we understand..

Yep we sure do. I'm fighting the brain Zaps as I'm writing this. Very angry & aggressive too. I posted under another thread here all the horrible side effects I'm suffering. 8 days 'clean' & it still goes on. My dr told me 60mg Cymbalta to 30mg for 21 days, then stop. From what I gather all drs have different suggestions & nothing changes the crap you go through. It also seems it doesn't matter how long yr on these poisonous little pills either. 6 mths or 6 yrs - same experience. I'm a 2 yr guinea pig. I guess we just need to be determined not to let this sh!t beat us

I am the victim of Cymbalta withdrawals. I am hoping to find a network of support and information regarding this. And to help others that are experiencing the same.

Today is day 7 for me. My Doc said 60mg every 2 days for a month. Pharmacist said ok to just stop. I was on the poison for only 2 months!
You are correct in saying that we need to be determined not to let this beat us! I keep telling myself that as I go through the horrors of withdrawal. It is so helpful to know I am not alone in this.Posted Image

OMG! 2 months! That's so wrong to be going through this after 8 short weeks. You poor thing. I really feel for you. Something needs to be done about getting this poison off the market! I know I said."6 mths or 6 yrs - it doesn't seem to matter" but 2 months?! Even I didn't think 2 mths would have this effect. You're definitely not alone irnwmn05. I'm sure everyone on this forum would be feeling for you right now. Hang in there :)

You are correct in thinking that this is the same as WD's from heroine. I actually am the mother of a Heroin addict who has experienced WD's from that several times. He took one look at me and listened to me describe my WD symptoms and HE even said " oh my gosh mom, that is just like withdrawals from Heroine!" scary scary stuff! I would have been completely informed by my Dr prior to starting this or had I researched it before hand, I would have NEVER NEVER let one of those capsules into my body! Not to mention the money I have PAID to be poisoned! it's just sickening.
Best of luck to you on this horrible ride and hoping you feel better with each passing day.

Because of a mix up in my pharmacy and them not being able to get in touch with my Doctor I have had to quit cold turkey 180mg of Cymbalta per day. I feel the need to crawl out of my skin. I am being electrocuted, I get zapped in one are of my body and I tremor and twitch in another part, I know the tremor is coming because I've been zapped. I feel like my brain is buzzing and shifting from side to side without me even moving my head. Today I lost it on my daughter and then broke down and sobbed (I don't cry) My dreams are bizzar. I can't do this much longer, I have to get my re-fill and soon. I take Cymbalta for fibromyalgia not depression.

OMG koko, my heart is breaking for you. Hopefully by now you are better and tapering. BUT!! 180mg???? Research has shown anything over 60mg is moot. I am so disappointed in our medical professionals for not educating themselves but letting pharmaceutical reps be their guides (kickbacks?).

I too took Cymbalta for fibro but ended up with a depression that stole my life. I hope and pray you can taper and find alternative measures to treat your pain. My doctor finally admitted that after many years of prescribing Cymbalta that I was the only one still taking it!!!! My facial expression must have spoke louder than words because he couldnt look at me the rest of the visit. Next stop the pharmacy. My pharmacist said I was one of just a handful STILL taking that drug. But when I mentioned this website and the agony thousands of people were having on and withdrawing from Cymbalta he shurgged his shoulders and said it was news to him. I agree with others here who have said we are in charge of our own health......at least with this poison. I find much comfort here with others battling together because our medical community is truely letting us down.

Please update your condition......I am very worried about you. You are not alone here, koko. My prayers for you and all of us as we struggle to become 'normal' again.

**sidenote on irnwmn05's post. Wicked withdrawls after just 2 months??? That scared me to my core. What is Cymbalta and what is the long term effects to our brain function? (the commercial says "we dont know HOW Cynmbalta works....but is does". Scarey, very scarey!)
