Ive been on 60mg of cymbalta for a couple of years,my doctor was giving me samples. The samples stopped and I cant afford the $80 per month. It really hassent been helping anyway.I started by slowwing down for the past 2 months.Im sorry theres others going through this but its somehow comferting to know Im not alone.Ive had 5 back surgeries and been on and off morphine more times than I can count, and let me tell you those were NOTHING compaired to this walk through hell.Does anyone know how long this will take? Ive read people are having good results with working out, with me thats not an option (sorry about my rambleing and spelling just cant get it together).

When I calmed down I pleaded with him to read what I had & get on the Internet and check the validity of this site & others who are designed to do nothing more than offer support from those of us who have actually EXPERIENCED Cymbalta & it's side effects. To my surprise, he actually checked while I was there. However, instead of being in the bit least apologetic, his pearl of wisdom was "we can't ban something that helps some people & that we can't ban drugs because they have 'the odd' side effect.
I gave up & walked out. I wasn't asking him to ban it, just be aware of what it can do. OMG!!
Ah well, I'm happy to plod along and give this up the best way I can & keep reading other peoples experiences so I know I'm not alone.
PS: there's no way I take it without honey

are the brain zaps anything like the sounds of your in your mind when you have a high fever? or like when one fried on acid in the old days? I heard a constint sound of alternating pitch of sounds once oe twice...I know how you feel Willy but don't be sorry. Rambling is what we do here - it helps getting it off your chest. Only wish none of us had to come to this site in the first place. Can't describe how happy I am that it exists though. I'm on day 13. Still suffering the physical side effects such as brain zaps, etc. The emotional side seems to be getting worse. Can't handle being around anyone. If I have to be they just annoy the crap out of me so I back away. Hanging on for now but feel like I'm getting closer to the edge. Not happy

You are exactly right about the branded comment. You can almost read there mind, well you should stay on this stuff.I think it was designed that way,you dont take it and feel bad,you take it and feel better, well you better stay on it.Doctors have to play the odds, they give most people this and that happens, but what if your different? Also alot of doctors have a bit of a God complex so if you disagree with them your on there shitlist.Went to the docs yesterday for unrelated reasons & tried to show him some stuff I'd printed from this site. Apparently we could all be just 'anybody' writing this 'stuff'. Because I heatedly defended this forum he tried to convince me to go back on Cymbalta. Nice, hey? Once your on this poison your branded - or so it felt. I wasn't entitled to have a valid opinion on this crap being "evil" like you said without being made to feel out of control.

I refuse to go near them now. I'm turning more towards the 'natural' side of things. Naturopaths & the like who HATE this stuff & anything like it. The natural remedies take a bit longer to kick in & do their job but at least they're not going to put me through this hell if I decide to stop taking them.
I know these guys seem a bit weird but I'd rather weird than ignorant

This is why I refuse to tell my doctor that I'm tapering off of it. I was originally on 30mg and was having problems then, and she insisted that my body was trying to tell me that I needed a higher dosage. It's kind of lost cause when it comes to doctors. They care more about their kick backs than they care about their patients.
