I've been on antidepressants since I was 14 years old for OCD and severe anxiety. I'm now 23. I felt like I was just floating through life and wasn't experiencing true human emotion. It's now nine years later and I'm not even sure If I need this drug, so I've decided to stop numbing myself. But what's scary is that I don't know what normal feels like...

Has anybody had sucess with the herbal suppliment St. Johns Wart? It claims to be a "mood enhancer" that is as effective as antidepressants in treating: depression, anxiety, sleep problems, anorexia, apathy, and feelings of worthlessness. I've been taking this for a couple days now but haven't noticed any signicicant changes. Just wondering if anybody else has tried this.

Hi
Just to let you know you should not take St John's wort if you are weaning off Cymbalta, you can take it once your off the drug. I would check with a Naturopath first. If you take it while you are on cymbalta it can cause seizure's it is an anti depressant. It will interact with the Cymbalta also Gingo interacts in a negative way with Cymbalta.

Hi
St. John's Wart can be dangerous to use. It works mainly on a placebo effect. A much safer option is L-THeanine which has minimal side effects and will help with mood swings, anxiety and sleep.
Hope this helps.
God bless
