Hi everyone my name is jenn. I started taking this med cymbalta about two years ago and had no clue what I was going to be going through when I decided to come off it. I have never felt this bad in my life. Im an early childhood educator and this is causing me some serious problems. I have not been to work in two days, and not sure if I will be in tomorrow. I decided to come off cymbalta a couple of weeks ago. I was tired of being dependent on a medication, and I felt like my life was in stable enough condition that I could handle things without it. I have always been a “non addictive personality type” I quit smoking cold turkey two times in my life… smoke free for 13 years now  I stopped taking another antidepressant cold turkey about 10 years ago. (I had two miscarriages back to back, and got depressed) I didn’t have any bad side effects for any of that. This med however, is a different story. I feel like I have the flu, my stomach is completely torn up. Diarrhea, hurting, acid reflux feeling/heartburn, I am having nightmares every night, waking up stiff from head to toe, I grind my teeth in my sleep now, wake with a headache that lasts all day, every muscle in my body is beyond tense. I have muscle knots that hurt all day. It feels like I have pulled most everyone in my body. I ache all over, feel lightheaded and cant seem to stay focused on the simplest things. I blew up on my boss once already. I thought I was going nuts when I thought my hearing was getting better until I read another persons post on here. They said that sounds were much louder to them as well. I find certain musical instruments to be painfully loud right now. I got my daughter on the school bus at 6:45am yesterday and passed out asleep. I slept a total of 16 hours…. ????? I think my body is being put to the test… when I started taking cymbalta I weighed 135 lbs two years later I weigh 180lbs…. I have never had an issue with my weight. Always on the thin side. Im 5’8 . I had major constipation while on this med. As well. I have been off cymbalta for a little over two weeks. I change jobs in another week. I sure hope this is over by then. This Is very debilitating……. I feel like im a heroin addict… there needs to be information given out about this med when a doc prescribes it… including withdraw… ohhhh and yes… I did cold turkey on this as well. I want this mess out of my body asap.

its friday now, and i am feeling a little better. not feeling so lost and confused. i went back to work today and found i was able to be a litte more like myself....
