Blake, lack of sleep is very common at the early stages of getting yourself back to normal. Even though you are taking Lexapro which is helping with some of the horrid symptoms, and thank goodness for that, you may still have some of the other things that go along with this.

Check out the nutrition section here, as there are some ideas to help you feel even better. Many that used the alternate drug method to come off of Cymbalta still found some benefits in using some of the supplements, such as an Omega 3, or foods high in it. Eat healthy, limit caffeine and stay hydrated.

Sleeptime Tea with Valerian is a good option to try for sleep. A cup of that about 30 minutes before bedtime really seems to help. You can also look into taking Melatonin. Your body needs to rest to help get past this, and you are likely missing out on some critical sleep periods.

Just a few ideas for you to help you feel even better. I'm glad the Lexapro is working for you!

Hey,
I feel like a huge hypocrite here... but ummm yeah gonna give my suggestion anyway... lol (I know if you haven't figured it out by now I probably always will ;) it's just me  )

I have found in the past week the ONLY way I could get my brain to be quiet long enough to let me sleep and function the next day is to take either one vicodin (which along with phenegran was what my doc gave me to get through the withdrawls) or 1/2 a xanax (which the same doc gave me before the last cymbalta increase to help with high anxiety - ironically mostly caused by working in his office as an assistant... whole different story...- but i couldn't take it during the day because it made me so sleepy...) I knew the xanax would come in handy sometime down the road :) the 1/2 I take is half of the smallest dose size you can actually get (yep I actually sat there and cut those little bitty pills in half...) I'm pretty sensitive to it but it sure does seem to help!

so on one hand it's kinda my peeve to have to take one drug to handle getting rid of another... on the other hand sleep is your friend!

I had an introverted psyc. teacher once who told us that his senior research project was to go without sleep for a week to see what effect it had, because to him it just seemed like such a waste of time... he even had his buddy go through it with him for moral support... I think they made it almost a week... He's now a STRONG advocate for getting regular sleep :) giggle he also jumped up on a desk and started dancing just to prove the point that even introverted people can go outside their comfort zones and appear extroverted... that was the first day of class... lol... i sure miss that prof.... anywhoo...

maybe i can just tell you loooong life stories with no real point and it will make you sleepy
best wishes for some shut eye!
skye
