I really thought I was going to die yesterday. I was trying to get myself together to go to work, crying, nausea, unbelievable head pains. I have had a migraine for the last 3 weeks, 3 trips to the ER, ECGs,CAT Scan, MRI, Blood work, Occular pressure check, IV Dilaudid, IV Phenergan and Benadryl and Toradol,Imatrex, the works etc. no help. Then all of a sudden it came to me, me AN HONEST TO GOD PSYCHIATRIC NURSE, for Gods sake, I was in withdrawal. I have been on 60mg of Cymbalta for 6 months now. I worked straight night shift when I started on it but they have been playing with my shifts trying to get me on straight days and my schedule has been totally screwed up and I missed a few doses and taking it at odd hours of the day then this sickness came over me. If I didn't know what stopping an SSRI would do then who would? My blood pressure is high, my pulse is racing and irregular with palpitations, my head hurts to the point I want to put my head through a wall, anxiety, irritation, constipation, constant nausea. I swear, I have an appointment with a neurologist tomorrow and if he can't help me get off this terrible stuff I don't now what I am going to do.

I have been taking dramamine (high dose) that takes the edge off..
I am in my 4th week at 0 cymbalta (after taking 60 mg for 5 years)... Still no relief in site.
I HAVE though (through all this time) have been recognizing what makes it worse (stress, caffiene, any alcohol - I did drink a glass of wine here and there before I stopped Cymbalta)... So I have done what I need to do to survive (so I can manage my day to day tasks, such as working!)
No more caffiene - I have been drinking decaf green tea twice a day
No more alcohol
The stress.... well, I try to not be allow myself to get to stressed, but that is HARD)...
It's a viscious cycle. You feel bad, you get stressed about that, THAT stress makes you feel worse...
Oh, and I have increased in exercise (the BEST medication out there)

Good luck... and, KEEP YOUR RECEIPTS

Thank you for your suggestions. I will try decreasing my caffeine, I don't drink, but I do eat stress for lunch so I can try some stress relief. Right now I am concerned with getting a doctor to help me taper me off Cymbalta. Hope you feel well soon.
