to help people with my experience and knowledge of getting off Cymbalta

Ive been trying to get off cymbalta like most of you. I did not realise how debilitating it the whole process would be. My dr started weaning me off at 30 mg a week I nearly couldnt function and I have 3 daughters and a husband to look after. Anyway now I am down to 5 mg a week and I dont count balls. I have a measuring cup and empty 60mg tab into 60ml H2O then with a medicine measuring cup (bought from the chemist) withdraw the amount you are going down for me Im on 45mg so after I have mixed the drug and water together I take out 15ml which is equivalent to 15 mg. My psych told me counting balls is painful and inaccurate believe me thats true, I have a degree in Science. By the way I was on 120mg for 5 years for severe post natal depression now that Im coming off it apart from the withdrawals(constant nausea, constant headaches, sweats, insomnia, irritability, dizzynessPosted Image) I feel more intelligent and my memory is coming back. Through the whole process God has been my rock and guide if it was up to my psych I would be on this drug for life and I believe it left me cloudy and without much memory so I am so glad and grateful that I am coming off this powerful drug even though you feel awful. Try sleeping tabs antianxietys and aspros and antinausea tabs to help get you through thats what I have done and Im so glad I have. Three weeks after I stopped going down by 30mg and I am starting to feel heaps better the nausea has gone and Im down to aspros instead of antianxietys for the strange pressure and headadchey feeling.Posted Image I hope this info is helpful

God bless and take care ..

It took 7 months weaning down slowly, by removing 10 balls per day per week & so on until none left worked for me regardless of how many balls are in each pill (it varies which seems nuts - why is that if they are made by a machine?). I've been Cymbalta free for 6 months and even though I still get w/d attacks & brain zaps when overtired & am damaged by the drug, I am doing far better off it. See my other posts & ongoing updates if interested. The ball/grain removing method works well for many ppl as it's gentler & I believe causes less neuro damage. The thing is to do it slowly over many months.

The ball counting method may work for many people but it nearly drives you insane just getting your doseage right
I think as well the key to coming off is slowly I am going down by 5mg a wk not 30mg as initially was recommended
to me by my dr, but by dissolving and measuring by ml you recieve the exact dosage you want and fiddling around with
the balls is so tedious especially in the morning I thought this might help some people who are stuggling to reduce
there dosages accurately regards Mary
