After 5 days off this crap, I still wake up and cry every day. My doc said "here take this great stuff! CYMBALTA! Due to insurance issues, I could longer afford it, no prob, I will just quit taking it. WOW! Now I wish I don't wake up. Now my 14 yr old son gets to go thru this!!! I want to KILL someone!

Hope you survived Okay Okie...I can relate to exactly what you went through...5 days of hell taking Cymbalta and hell is gradually leaving 10 days since last pill....if I thought I felt bad prior to taking these pills I was so wrong...10000 times worse after it...I was wondering if the Cymbalta cure was to terrify you out of depression lol

My husband stops drinking and he was told to take passionflower to help reduce the anxiety and emotions. You can buy this at good vitamin shops. He did this 3x day.

I also agree coming off this stuff makes you FEEL again. The emotions come back with doors wide open. It is hard to handle all these emotions. Try to remember that it is the symptoms NOT YOU.

Try to redirect your thoughts to happy thoughts.

Hi Matt39

Love your sense of humor. I actually lol about Terrifying us out of depression. I hadn't thought of that. However if people knew how they would feel after taking cymbalta and withdrawing from it, they would NEVER take it in the first place. People who have not taken cymbalta can't possibly imagine the physical and emotional pain that this medicine causes. I'm a retired psychiatric nurse and I wouln't believe it myself if it wasn't happening to me. Right now this Forum is my salvation. I know people must think I'm exaggerating or truly crazy when I tell them what is happening to my entire body. This Forum has really helped me cope no matter how bad I feel. Today is day 28 w/o cymbalta for me. It's crazy how you can have a few good days here and there and then all of a sudden you start into brain zaps , dizziness, h/a, nausea, muscle aches and pains again. I hate feeling like this. Oh well, I know I will be back to my normal self (whatever that is)soon.

Good luck in your Cymbalta Adventure. May God Bless you and keep you safe.

Freeme2 & Kzap,

I've been taking New Chapter Perfect Prenatal vitamins (I'm not trying to get pregnant it just has the best stuff in it as well as lots of B vitamins which help a lot), New Chapter Wholemega Whole Fish Oil, I was taking 5 HTP it helped TREMENDOUSLY with withdrawing, as well as my husband's seroquel and ativan (lorazepam) on the side during the withdrawl process. The latter 3 I take as needed but the first 2 I still take because I find them still to be helpful. I hope this helps you both.

Hi Adrienne

Thanks for the information on the vitamins etc. For some reason, I have a hard time tolerating B vitamins by mouth . I think its the Thiamine B1 that literally makes me sick to my stomach. Are the Prenatal Vitamins Enteric Coated? If they are I might try them. I can't seem to find any multiple or B Complex without the Thiamine. I've even considered asking my Dr for a Shot of B Complex to see if that would make me sick, but I always forget when I'm at his office. I know that B Vitamins are for STRESSS( not that I'm stressed, lol) so they are definitely important in this recovery process. Maybe I'll try them again.

Thanks again Adtienne.congratulations on your recovery and keep up the good work. May God Bless you and keep you safe.

Well best day yet today....I can finally visualize positive thoughts and feel like I can talk to God again... Weird I know .... Part of my slow crawl out of depression involved bringing my negative thoughts into my conscious awareness and addressing them as to whether they were true... Renewing the mind as they say.... This really was working for me... It was so distressing to not be able to access these thoughts emotions etc and therefore not change them..having done a physiology/biochem degree and a psych degree I know the awaking truth that you can physically change your brains wiring etc by changing your thinking.

No mood swings today.

God bless to you all.

I stopped in the beginning of July and I am still having bad symptoms the dizziness is the worst. So I am 5 weeks out! If your feeling better what worked for you? If I were not a Christian I would want to believe satan has taken over my mind and body. I feel like I am in Hell!
